Hi, I’m Laura…

Laura found yoga in her hometown of Tucson, AZ, nearly 15 years ago–and, in finding yoga, found herself. She began a daily practice, and the results were miraculous. Not only did yoga help her physical body, it also relieved her feelings of anxiety and depression. In Tucson, she also studied Tibetan Buddhism with the Asian Classics Institute under her teacher, Lama Sarahni Stumpf. This exploration into the nature of being continues to inform her teaching today.

When she moved to Texas a decade later, yoga remained a constant and her practice evolved. She received her teaching certification at Dharma Yoga in Austin, where she was attracted to the teaching philosophy grounded in Buddhist principles and focus on safe and precise alignment.

She designs her classes for her students, with the flexibility to adapt and provide the perfect class no matter how flexible you are. In her mind, the perfect yoga class is a workout for your body and reflective space for your mind. Whether you’re a yoga veteran or trying your first class, whether you want to lose yourself in the flow or find a quiet moment to pause, her classes are for you. She uses lots of props to provide support, focuses on anatomy cues and proper alignment, and makes sure that every student leaves feeling more centered and at peace than when they arrived.

Laura lives in Austin, TX, with her husband, children, and two blue heelers. Off the mat, she likes to garden, cook, and hike around the Hill Country–that is, when she’s not chasing the kiddos around!

Practice with Laura Philosophy

Life is fleeting like the sea bubbles on the froth of a wave.
— the Buddha

Take a break from the chaos, pause for a deep breath, and value the present moment. That’s the Practice with Laura philosophy in a sentence—because that’s life, folks. Blink and you’ll miss it. In my classes, we’re determined not to miss a second. We make space, find time, and settle our mats in the here-and-now. Yoga On! is about taking a little while to feel good, noticing the beauty and uniqueness of each moment we spend together, and riding this beautiful wave that is our life till it crashes…and the next wave forms.
